Dog & Cat Grooming
Professional pet styling for dogs & cats

We provide grooming services to dogs, cats and small animals. We offer a variety of packaged services, add-ons, and walk-in grooming services.

Grooming Services

Bath Package

Our bathing process ensures deep cleansing of the pet’s coat. We bathe twice, the first shampooing removes surface dirt, the second removes dander and build-up. We use a specific facial cleanser that is safe for the eyes and effectively removes dirt and eye discharge.

During the bath the anal glands are checked and expressed if needed unless we are instructed not to do so.

The nails are carefully clipped and then finished with a diamond sanding tool to smooth rough edges.

Ears are cleaned with a professional solution that does not burn ears or dry skin while it dissolves wax and removes odors.

The coat is blown dry and finished with light brushing. If there are significant tangles or matting we will recommend additional grooming services to address these concerns.

Mini Groom

In addition to all the services provided in the bath package (described above), the mini groom also includes clipping the sanitary area, trimming the pads of the feet and lightly rounding them, and then scissoring over the eyes.

The mini groom is an ideal way to maintain your pet between regular full grooming services. This service will keep your pet fresh and adorable.

Full Groom

The only way to achieve a quality groom is to start with a thorough bath. Our bathing process ensures deep cleansing of the pet’s coat. We bathe twice, the first shampooing removes surface dirt, the second removes dander and build-up. We use a specific facial cleanser that is safe for the eyes and effectively removes dirt and eye discharge.

Ears are cleaned with a professional solution that does not burn ears or dry skin while it dissolves wax and removes odors. If your pet has hair in the ear canal you can choose to have it trimmed or carefully removed. Please ask your vet if it is appropriate to have the hair plucked from your dog’s ear canal.

The coat is blown dry and finished with light brushing. If there are significant tangles or matting we will recommend additional grooming services to address these concerns.

Once the coat is correctly prepared for grooming we will clipper and scissor your pet to your desired length and style. From short and practical to a bit longer or fluffier, we want your pet to be exactly as you hoped.

We maintain notes on each groom that we complete so upon future visits you can request the same groom or make adjustments to suit your needs and preferences.

Walk-In & Add-On Services

Our walk-in services offer a convenient way to maintain some of the basic grooming needs of your pet. We also offer some add-on services for your pet’s bath package, mini or full grooming service (appointments typically required).

Teeth Brushing
We use a finger brush and a flavorful tooth paste to brush your pet’s teeth and gums. The tooth brush is yours to keep so that you can continue to brush your pet’s teeth at home between salon visits.

Walk-in Nail Trim and File
We carefully clip the nails and then smooth rough edges with a diamond sanding tool. Our goal is to safely remove the nail growth just beyond the sensitive quick.

Walk-in Anal Gland Expression
Our walk-in expression is a convenient way to care for routine anal gland needs. Please check with your vet to make sure that routine expression, done externally, is appropriate for your pet.

Walk-in Pad Trimming
Trimming the hair from the pads of the feet can prevent your pet from tracking excessive amounts of dirt into the home, aid in traction on slick floors, keep burs and debris from sticking to the pads of the feet, and prevent painful matting between the pads. Our walk-in service is convenient with little to no waiting.

Flea Shampoo
We do not use pesticide shampoos. Our flea treatment includes administering a Capstar tablet, an extended soaking in mild shampoo which kills fleas and aids in their removal. We thoroughly rinse the coat and then shampoo again with a skin-calming oatmeal shampoo.

Shot Requirements

All dogs and cats that come for grooming must be current on their rabies vaccine and be free of obvious contagious disease/health concerns. We have routine professional pest control treatments and recommend everyone keep their dog on a quality flea and tick preventative.

We recommend that you read our post about the potential health risks associated with bringing your dog into environments such as ours.

When providing your shot records you can (or have your vet):

Fax the records to (321) 264-4742
Email the records to info@petresortandsuites.com
Text a picture of the records to (321) 246-4104

Grooming Service Price Estimates

Prices may vary from those listed below. The price estimates below are based on average time for completion for most dogs of that breed. Prices are not determined solely by breed but rather the pet’s size, coat length/condition, temperament, and desired style. Matting/excessive shedding is additional, based on the additional time required. Price may be higher for all-over cutting of the coat on breeds that are not typically clipped (e.g. Golden Retriever).

About Evie

Evie Michalak is our only groomer and one of the business owners. She became a certified groomer by the Virginia School of Pet Grooming in 2003. She worked for private salons and large corporate chains before starting a mobile grooming business. She discontinued the mobile grooming service to devote her attention entirely to the Pet Resort. Evie continues to expand her experience in animal handling, skin and coat care, breed specific and mixed breed styling, first aid and general grooming techniques. She has years of experience bathing and trimming dogs, cats and small animals.

Evie enjoys working with dogs that have challenging behavior and will take dogs that have been turned away from other grooming salons. If you have a dog or cat that was recommended to be groomed under sedation or was turned away for behavior, please consider having Evie try working with it. With her experience in animal behavior and appropriate handling she is able to manage or improve the behavior and grooming experience for many of these pets. She will not groom any animal that has been given a sedative so please do not administer any type of sedative or tranquilizer before the appointment.

Evie is responsible for the training and oversight of all bathing and grooming support staff.
